Its design is based on the separation of sliding action and sealing/locking action.
A door with triple functionality. In the closed position, the weight of the movable leaves compresses the weather-stripping against the guiding track, creating an air tight seal. By activating the handle, a special hardware system “lifts” the movable leaf by about ½” (10mm) thereby allowing it to slide easily without rubbing against the weather stripping. As a result, the weather stripping will not wear out prematurely and the doors require no effort to slide.
Our constructive possibilities of the Lift-Slide Door start with a fixed and a sliding leaf with a tilting option, up to several sliding leaves accumulating behind one fixed element, opening an ample space. Due to their ease of operation and because of their multi-point locking hardware, Lift-Slide-Tilt Doors can be built to the size of entire walls. Configurations for corner units (with or without corner posts) are also available.
When the constructive design allow it, several leaves of the Lift-Slide Door can be embed within a double wall (pocket), obtaining a complete opening of the space.
All options work with a hermetic sealing/lock system developed in Germany. This system permits the economic use of air conditioning when used with insulated glass. All these variables are available with different mosquito screen systems.
